YMCA Back to School Bash promises fun for everyone

Back To Front Page

The YMCA "Back to School Bash" will be Friday, July 20, from 5-7 p.m., at the Duneland Family YMCA Early Learning Academy.

This is a free, safe, and extremely fun event for Duneland community kids of all ages. Kids can participate in carnival games, contests, cake walks, play in the bounce house, have their faces painted, enjoy sweet treats and more! There will be a drawing for a three month membership to the Y and prizes donated by local merchants.

"Pie in the Face with Dave" has just been added to the fun! Take the opportunity to smash a pie in Y CEO Dave Kasarda's face to help the Y raise money for a safe playground. For a donation of any size, everyone who donates gets a pie to throw! If you want to donate but can't attend, we'll provide a pie to one of the kids in your name. All proceeds will be used to cover the cost of playground mulch at the Early Learning Academy.

HealthLinc, whose mission is to improve communities by expanding access to exceptional health care, will be on site to register for well child checks and youth sports physicals. HealthLinc will return to the Early Learning Academy on Monday, July 23, to do well child checks.

"The Y is a great place to bring your family and have a fun, safe time," said Shannon Spratley. "Each year we offer a free event to the community so everyone has an opportunity to enjoy time with their family."

The Y Early Learning Academy is located in the Chesterton Middle School, Door #8.
