Westchester Migratory Bird Sanctuary open for social distance outings

Back To Front Page

The Westchester Migratory Bird Sanctuary provides a convenient place for the people of Duneland to get outdoors, take a walk, and view some of the birds that frequent the site.

To help provide a nice place to go during this COVID-19 virus pandemic, a few Sanctuary volunteers worked to arrange picnic tables around the site to provide a variety of areas to sit down and relax for a bit a safe social distance from one another.

There are now 10 picnic tables scattered around the site, as well as two gazebos, a picnic shelter, an observation deck, and three benches, all of which were donated by members of the community.

The Sanctuary also has several trails for a bit of exercise.

The Westchester Migratory Bird Sanctuary would not exist without countless community contributions of time and money to this project.

Westchester Migratory Bird Sanctuary is a property owned by Porterco Conservation Trust, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
