Westchester Intermediate student tests positive for C-19

A Westchester Intermediate student in the hybrid A-K cohort tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday afternoon, the Duneland School Corporation (DSC) is reporting.

The administration, in consultation with the Porter County Health Department, has conducted contact tracing measures for this person, and all those who were in close contact (within six feet for 15 minutes or longer) have been notified directly, DSC said.

“Please be aware that privacy laws, including HIPAA and FERPA, prevent us from sharing further information regarding students and staff,” DSC added.

The WIS building was deep-cleaned and sanitized Friday evening and was available for students today, DSC said.
