The Duneland Chamber of Commerce is asking Downtown businesses to welcome
home a wounded warrior on Friday afternoon.
Cpl. Richard Sanders, U.S. Army--son of Porter County Sheriff’s Deputy
Rollie Sanders--is coming home. Sanders suffered a traumatic brain injury
while on duty in Afghanistan, when the truck in which he was riding was
struck by an improvised explosive device.
The Chamber is urging local businesses to put a “Welcome Home” sign in their
front windows, in advance of a ride through the Downtown, beginning at 4
p.m. from the Kmart parking lot at 750 Indian Boundary Road.
For more information, contact the Chamber at 926-5513.
