Tribune tells Christmas Coloring Contest winners

Back To Front Page

Three winners were selected, one in each age group, from among 30 entries in this year’s Chesterton Tribune annual Christmas Coloring Contest.

The panel of judges had a hard time deciding on the finalists, as so many were quite colorful, whimsical, and just plain cute.

In the age 2-4 group, the winner is Megan Fischer, age 4, of Porter. Her multi-colored sky, and original moon and stars colors, with the shaded roof and windows, alongside the colorful gingerbread girl, won the judges’ votes.

Stella Stewart, age 7, of Chesterton, was the winner in the 5-7 age group. She took great care in outlining the gingerbread house roof in a striking turquoise, colored each polka dot on the front facade, and even added a decorated Christmas tree in one window. Her originality won her the contest.

Andersen Himan, 9, of Westville, was the winner in the 8-10 age group. His bright teal sky, dotted by electric yellow moon and stars, highlighted a precisely colored gingerbread house with a roof in alternating pink and blue.

The Tribune thanks each and every contestant for submitting such fun and colorful contest entries.

The Coloring Contest entries will hang in the front window of the Chesterton Tribune through Tuesday, Dec. 26.
