Touch a Truck to benefit Parents as Teachers Saturday

Parents as Teachers of Porter County will hold its fifth annual Touch a Truck event on Saturday, July 5, at Sunset Hill Farm County Park, at the corner of U.S. Hwy. 6 and Meridian Road from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

More than 35 vehicles and their owners and drivers will be showcased, including an award winning monster truck, a unique banana car, Army vehicles, race cars, and Fire and Rescue trucks.

A drug enforcement helicopter will fly in at 10 a.m. and depart at 1 p.m. It will be available for up close viewing.

Gourmet hog dogs, the Hungry Inc. food truck, ice cream treats, and elephant ears will be available for sale. A bounce house is included with admission.

Entrance fee is $20 per car load and die cast cars will be given to the first 100 children.

This is a PAT fundraiser that provides for family educational programming to promote school readiness for hundreds of children in need in Porter County.
