From camps for kids to body bar training, the Porter County Parks Department
announces its latest line-up of programs at Sunset Hill Farm County Park in
Camp Funset: Each day campers will be treated to arts and crafts,
team-building activities, treasure hunts and presentations from special
guests. Campers and parents can count on a camp geared toward friendly play,
consistent values, and appropriate supervision at all times. Children will
be divided into two age groups: Acorns (ages 6 to 8) and Sprouts (ages 9 to

Nordic walking: This calorie-burning exercise will be available on
Wednesdays through June 22. The beginner program takes place at 9 a.m.,
while an intermediate program begins at 10 a.m. The cost for this program is

Body bar training program: This program is aimed at toning muscle and
burning fat. It will be held on Mondays through June 27 from 5:15 to 5:45
p.m. Equipment will be provided for this program, which costs $25 for all

Sunset Hill Farm Running Club: The club is free of charge and offers runs
that are five miles and longer. No runner is ever left behind. The group
meets on Mondays at 6 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 a.m. at Sunset
Hill Farm County Park.
Painting lessons: Instructor Shirley Massey is leading an ongoing open
studio for all skill levels on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon and 6 to 8
p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. The classes take place at the
Sunset Hill Farm County Park Education Center. Artists are provided with
acrylic paint, space and guidance. The cost for this class is $10 if a
painting surface is provided by the instructor, or $5 if the artist brings
his or her own surface. Those who are interested are welcome to sit in on
one class free of charge to see if it is a fit. For more information,
