Statewide: New C19 cases slow over the long weekend

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 1,727 new COVID-19 cases since Friday, to bring total confirmed cases in the state to 32,078, up from 30,409, an increase of 5.7 percent over the last 96 hours.

On Saturday the ISDH reported 513 new cases; 487 on Sunday; 354 on Monday and 373 today,

ISDH was also reporting 59 additional deaths since Friday, to bring the total in the state so far to 1,859, up from 1,791 on Friday, an increase of 3.3 percent over the last 96 hours.

ISDH reported 21 deaths on Saturday; 12 on Sunday; eight on Monday; and 18 today.

The number of probable COVID-19 deaths to date: 154. Probable deaths are those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms all point to COVID-19 but for which no positive test is on record. Total confirmed and probable COVID-19 deaths in Indiana: 2,013 (1,941 on Friday).

Nursing home cases and deaths to date: 4,086 cases and 876 deaths (3,625 cases and 732 deaths on Friday). Number of nursing home facilities in the state with at least one case of COVID-19: 224 (212 on Friday). Number of nursing homes in the state with at least one COVID-19 death: 142 (129 on Friday).

230,749 tests have been reported to date to ISDH, up from 208,561, an increase of 10.6 percent over the last four days, with a positive rate of 13.9 percent. Tests are being conducted by ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and private laboratories.

Tests in Porter County: 4,155 (3,684 on Friday). In Lake County: 21,084 (19,100). In LaPorte County: 3,587 (3,060).

Marion County has the most reported cases, 9,268 (8,928 on Friday); and the most deaths, 539 (528). Lake County has reported 3,320 cases (3,128) and 168 deaths (166), the second highest in the state in both categories. LaPorte County has reported 415 cases and 22 deaths (376 and 20).
