The Indiana State
Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 614 new COVID-19
cases over the last 24 hours (634 new cases on Thursday), to bring total
confirmed cases in the state to 26,655, up from 26,053 on Thursday, an
increase of 2.4 percent.
ISDH was also
reporting 42 additional deaths over the last 24 hours (26 additional deaths
on Thursday), to bring the total in the state so far to 1,550, up from
1,508, an increase of 1.8 percent.
The number of
probable COVID-19 deaths to date: 141 (138 on Wednesday). Probable deaths
are those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms all point to
COVID-19 but for which no positive test is on record. Total confirmed and
probable COVID-19 deaths in Indiana: 1,691 (1,646 on Thursday).
Nursing home cases
and deaths to date: 3,033 cases and 584 deaths (unchanged from Thursday).
Number of nursing home facilities in the state with at least one case of
COVID-19: 197. Number with at least one death: 121.
165,448 tests have
been reported to date to ISDH, up from 160,239, an increase of 3.3 percent
over the last 24 hours, with a positive rate of 16.1 percent. Tests are
being conducted by ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and
Tests in Porter
County: 2,899 (2,827 on Thursday). In Lake County: 15,136 (14,653). In
LaPorte County: 2,429 (2,374).
Marion County has
the most reported cases, 7,995 (7,793 on Thursday); and the most deaths, 465
(451). Lake County has reported 2,747 cases (2,684) and 136 deaths (134),
the second highest in the state in both categories. LaPorte County has
reported 352 cases and 14 deaths (346 and 13).
