Statewide: 584 new C19 cases

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 584 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours (264 new cases on Wednesday), to bring total cases so far to 41,438, up from 41,013 on Wednesday.

ISDH was also reporting 16 additional deaths over the last 24 hours (29 additional deaths on Wednesday), to bring total deaths so far to 2,492, up from 2,476 on Wednesday.

Nursing home cases and deaths to date: 4,942 cases and 1,082 deaths (unchanged from Wednesday).

Marion County has the most reported cases, 10,852 (10,834 on Wednesday); and the most deaths, 661 (657). Lake County has reported 4,297 cases (4,222) and 232 deaths (231), the second highest in the state in both categories. LaPorte County has reported 479 cases, 25 deaths.

The total COVID-19 death count includes both confirmed and presumptive deaths to date. Presumptive deaths are those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms all point to COVID-19 but for which no positive test is on record. A total of 187 presumptive deaths was reported today, up from 186 on Wednesday.
