The Indiana State
Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 409 new COVID-19
cases over the last 24 hours, to bring total confirmed cases in the state to
25,4723 up from 25,127 on Tuesday, an increase of 1.6 percent.
ISDH was also
reporting 38 additional deaths over the last 24 hours, to bring the total in
the state so far to 1,482, up from 1,444, an increase of 2.6 percent from
Tuesday.
The number of
probable COVID-19 deaths to date: 137 (134 on Tuesday). Probable deaths are
those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms all point to COVID-19
but for which no positive test is on record. Total confirmed and probable
COVID-19 deaths in Indiana: 1,619 (1,578 on Tuesday).
Nursing home cases
and deaths to date: 3,033 cases and 584 deaths (unchanged from Tuesday).
Number of nursing home facilities in the state with at least one case of
COVID-19: 197. Number with at least one death: 121.
154,083 tests have
been reported to date to ISDH, up from 150,510 on Tuesday, an increase of
2.4 percent over the last 24 hours, with a positive rate of 16.5 percent.
Tests are being conducted by ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, and private laboratories.
Tests in Porter
County: 2,649 (2,610). In Lake County: 13,847 (13,456). In LaPorte County:
2,245 (2,079).
If positive rates
are an indication of the extent of COVID-19 testing in a county, then Porter
County’s 13.7-percent positive rate compares favorably
to Lake’s (18.7 percent), LaPorte’s (15.1), and the state’s (16.5 percent).
Marion County has
the most reported cases, 7,703 (7,632 on Tuesday); and the most deaths, 440
(429). Lake County has reported 2,588 cases (2,534) and 132 deaths (128),
the second highest in the state in both categories. LaPorte County has
reported 340 and 12 deaths (335 and 12).
