State reports 671 new cases and 17 deaths

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 671 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours (884 new cases on Tuesday), to bring the total so far to 76,522, up 75,862 on Tuesday.

ISDH was also reporting 17 additional COVID-19 deaths over the last 24 hours (25 additional deaths on Tuesday), to bring the total to date to 3,093, up from 3,076 on Tuesday.

Marion County has the most reported cases, 16,194 (16,088 on Tuesday); and the most deaths, 731 (730). Lake County has reported 7,742 cases (7,688) and 281 deaths (278), the second highest in the state in both categories. LaPorte County has reported 935 cases and 30 deaths (931 and 30).

The total COVID-19 death count includes both confirmed and presumptive deaths to date. Presumptive deaths are those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms all point to COVID-19 but for which no positive test is on record. A total of 208 presumptive deaths was reported today, up from 206 on Tuesday.
