Chesterton Tribune reporter Kevin Nevers has brought back another award to
the paper.
At the Better Newspaper Contest 2003, sponsored by the Hoosier State Press
Association and held Saturday in Indianapolis, Nevers won first place in the
Best Business/Economic News Coverage category for his stories earlier this
year on the acquisition of Bethlehem Steel Corporation by International
Steel Group.
The Tribune competes in Division III: dailies with circulation under 8,000.
“Very comprehensive series on a complicated, involved topic,” the contest
judge wrote.
In May Nevers was awarded first place in the Indiana Associated Press
Managing Editors Newswriting Contest in the Community Affairs/Public
Interest category for his coverage of the drug problem in Duneland.
