State COVID19 totals top 6,000, 245 deaths

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) is reporting this morning 430 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 6,351, up from 5,943 on Wednesday.

The 430 new cases represent an increase of 7 percent over the last 24 hours.

A total of 245 Hoosiers has died to date, up from 203 on Wednesday, an increase of 21 percent over the last 24 hours. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.

Meanwhile, 32,133 tests have been reported to ISDH, up from 30,869 on Wednesday. Tests are being conducted by ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and private laboratories.

Marion County had the most new cases, with 127. Other counties with more than 10 new cases were Porter (10), Lake (64), Allen (11), Bartholomew (17), Clark (11), Decatur (10), Elkhart (10), Floyd (10), Hendricks (12), and Johnson (17). The Lake County results include results from East Chicago and Gary, which have their own health departments.
