A grim milestone
was reached on Tuesday when the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH)
reported 46 new deaths from COVID-19 (nine new deaths on Monday), to bring
the total to 2,022.
This morning ISDH
was reportingan additional 10 deaths. To date, 2,032 Hoosiers have died of
ISDH was also
reporting this morning 511 new cases of COVID-19 (430 new cases on Tuesday),
to bring total cases so far to 35,712, up from 35,237 on Tuesday, an
increase of 1.5 percent over the last 24 hours.
The number of
probable COVID-19 deaths to date: 175 (unchanged from Tuesday). Probable
deaths are those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms all point to
COVID-19 but for which no positive test is on record. Total confirmed and
probable COVID-19 deaths in Indiana: 2,207.
Nursing home cases
and deaths to date: 4,357 cases and 945 deaths (unchanged from Tuesday).
Number of nursing home facilities in the state with at least one case of
COVID-19: 243. Number of nursing homes in the state with at least one
COVID-19 death: 150.
277,815 tests have
been reported to date to ISDH, up from 271,919 on Tuesday, an increase of
2.2 percent over the last 24 hours, with a positive rate of 12.9 percent.
Tests are being conducted by ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, and private laboratories.
Tests in Porter
County: 5,059 (4,944 on Tuesday). In Lake County: 25,054 (24,362). In
LaPorte County: 4,359 (4,297).
Marion County has
the most reported cases, 10,037 (9,978 on Tuesday); and the most deaths, 594
(592). Lake County has reported 3,806 cases (3,689) and 202 deaths (200),
the second highest in the state in both categories. LaPorte County has
reported 436 cases and 24 deaths (434 and 24).
