Spring Out to Sunset Festival offers lots of family fun Saturday

Back To Front Page

Every year, Porter County Parks and Recreation celebrates the transition from the cold, harsh Northwest Indiana winter to the beautiful spring and summer months with the Spring Out to Sunset Festival.

This festival brings together hundreds of region residents celebrating all the outdoor fun that summer in the parks has to offer.

This year, the festival will be held on Saturday, May 21, from 12 to 4 p.m., at Sunset Hill Farm County Park, at Hwy. 6 and Meridian Rd., in Liberty Township.

The day will be filled with family friendly activities such as a vintage baseball game (1 p.m.), inflatables, LaserBall NWI, pony rides, meet the animals, wagon rides, archery, crafts, live music and much more.

The goal of the event is to give region families a fun and affordable venue to get outside and be active in one of Porter County’s beautiful parks.

The Second Annual Spring Out Homebrew Competition will also be part of the festival. Entrants have submitted their home made brews to be judged by a qualified panel of judges during the festival. Winners will be announced.

Spring Out to Sunset is possible due to support from several local partners and sponsors including Thorgren Tool & Molding, NITCO, First State Bank of Porter, Figure Eight Brewing, Brewhouse Supplies, Howe Farms, and more.

Cost for this event is $5 per car.
