Plan a summer of fun for your kids at the Y's Camp Shorwau this year. They'll have an adventurous, active and healthy summer-one that will surely be described as "the best summer ever" for years to come. It's the ideal time for kids to get up, get out and explore.

At Camp Shorwau, kids will make new friends, discover new interests and create memories that last a lifetime. There will be field trips and guest speakers, free swimming lessons for all campers, outdoor fun, games and exploration. Camp, like many Y programs, gives kids the ability to build relationships as they learn how to be more independent.

Camp starts June 5 and runs through August 11. Day camp hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Extended care is available from 6:00-9:00 a.m. and 4:00-6:00 p.m. at no extra cost. Breakfast and a snack is included daily. There are several discounts available for camp this year: Free program fee when you register by March 31; $25 off the program fee when you register April 1- 30; and 10% off all ten weeks of camp when you pay in full by May 31. And, to ensure that all youth have the chance to experience camp, the Duneland Family YMCA Camp Shorwau offers financial assistance to those in need.

"Studies show that kids who are not involved with recreational and educational activities during out-of-school time can experience learning loss twice as fast as during the school year. Attending Camp Shorwau is a wonderful opportunity for kids to keep their minds and bodies active," said Sally Gabric, School Age & Camp Director at the Y.

As leading nonprofit committed to nurturing the potential of youth, the Duneland Y has been a leader in providing child care and camp for fifty years. Camp Shorwau continues to give youth an enriching, safe experience with caring staff and volunteers who model positive values that help build kid's character.
