The Porter County
Health Department was reporting this morning two more COVID-19 deaths,
bringing the County total up to 27.
Both of the new
deaths were female residents of long-term care facilities, one from Portage
Township and one from Center Township, in the 90-and-over age group.
Department reported the deaths this morning, adding a disclaimer to the
County COVID-19 dashboard clarifying that the total death count includes one
presumptive positive death to date.
Department was also reporting seven new cases this morning, brining the
total to 557 up from 550 yesterday. 16 are currently hospitalized. The
number of recoveries, 338, has not changed since Friday.
To date, 27 Porter
County residents have died from COVID-19: four Westchester Township
residents; one Liberty Township resident; 13 Portage Township residents; and
nine Center Township residents. Deaths by demographic: six 50-59; one 60-69;
four 70-79; eight 80-89; and eight 90-and-over. 12 men have died and 15

of COVID-19 have been reported in Porter County’s long-term care facilities,
up from 92 Monday.
