The Porter County
Health Department on Saturday reported a third death in the county
attributed to COVID-19.
The patient was a
Center Township man in the 70-79 demographic. The previous two deaths were
of a man and a woman, both residents of Portage Township, both in the 50-59

Health Department was reporting a total of 191 COVID-19 cases in the county,
up from 153 on Friday, an increase of 25 percent over the last 72 hours.

tests conducted in Porter County as of Friday, according to the Indiana
State Department of Health: 1,216 (1,095 on Thursday).

Township--with 79 cases, five hospitalizations, and 27 recoveries (70, five,
and 27 on Friday)--remains the hardest hit in the county; followed by
Washington, with 36 cases, no hospitalizations, and one recovery (these 36
cases include the 15 patients at Porter County Jail); then Center, with 27
cases, three hospitalizations, and 12 recoveries (25, two, and 10); then
Westchester; then Union, with 10 cases, no hospitalizations, and seven
recoveries (seven, none, and six).

and 30-39, with more than 20; then 60-69, 70-79, and 20-29, with nearly 20.

outnumber female, 98 to 93.
