Parents as Teachers
of Porter County will hold its annual “Touch a Truck” event on Saturday,
July 22, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Sunset Hill County Park.
Admission is $20
per car load and the first 100 children will receive a die cast car and a
pair of goggles for the foam field.
This year's event
will feature over 50 vehicles ranging from a monster truck to rescue
vehicles, race and military cars, and a medical helicopter. A bounce house
and pony rides are included in admission. Vendors will be available to
purchase food. Little Caesar’s, the Big Wiener, Kona Ice, and Valpo Velvet
will be providing food.
Additionally, the
R2D2 robot from Star Wars will be on hand to interact with attendees.
Highlighting the day will be the foam field at 12 Noon.
The event is
sponsored by Porter County Parks and Recreation, Moore & Portelli, Coastal
Valley Water, Datagraphics, Indiana Historical Power Association, Water Way
Pool & Spa, Val's Pizza, George’s Gyros Spot, Paul Shafer Motor Sports, Roy
Mitchell Racing, Bounce-n-Around, and Kona Ice.
