New C19 cases in Porter County: six

The Porter County Health Department was reporting this morning six new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours (12 new cases on Tuesday), to bring the total so far to 1,497, up from 1,491 on Tuesday.

Three patients are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, up from two on Tuesday; and 1,288 have recovered, unchanged from Tuesday. Total active cases in Porter County right now: 168.

No additional deaths were reported today. To date, 41 Porter County residents have succumbed to COVID-19.

Duneland cases by township:

-- Westchester: 150 cases (149 on Tuesday). Twenty-six active cases.

-- Liberty: 74 cases (73 on Tuesday). Six active cases.

-- Jackson: 19 cases (unchanged from Monday). Four active cases.

-- Pine: nine cases, none of them active.

Other Townships

-- Portage: 551 cases (549 on Tuesday).

-- Center: 418 cases (417 on Tuesday).

-- Washington: 75 cases (unchanged from Tuesday).

-- Union: 78 cases (unchanged from Tuesday).

Statewide: 506 new cases

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 506 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours (850 on Tuesday), to bring the total so far to 82,336, up from 81,847 on Tuesday.

ISDH was also reporting 15 additional COVID-19 deaths over the last 24 hours (30 additional deaths on Monday), to bring the total to date to 3,192, up from 3,177 on Tuesday.

Marion County has the most reported cases, 16,944 (16,869 on Tuesday); and the most deaths, 740 (738). Lake County has reported 8,298 cases (8,256) and 287 deaths (286), the second highest in the state in both categories. LaPorte County has reported 1,016 cases and 30 deaths (1,011 and 30).

The total COVID-19 death count includes both confirmed and presumptive deaths to date. Presumptive deaths are those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms all point to COVID-19 but for which no positive test is on record. A total of 212 presumptive deaths was reported today, up from 211 on Tuesday.
