Department of Transportation is announcing lane closures for Ind. 49 between
I-94 and Indian Boundary Road, starting Monday, Aug. 31.
Ind. 49 will be

over the CSX railroad and the Little Calumet River. The north- and
southbound bridges will have bridge deck overlays applied in order to extend
their service life, along with other bridge maintenance tasks.
Lane closures will
alternate so drivers should be prepared for changing traffic patterns.
The project is
expected to be completed early in November.
motorists to stay alert in work zones and follow traffic directions
carefully. Motorists should allow extra time when driving through this area,
slow down, use caution, and drive distraction-free.
