Indiana reports 1044 new cases and 18 more deaths

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 1,044 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours (1,110 new cases on Thursday), to bring the total so far to 97,884, up from 96,854 on Thursday.

ISDH was also reporting 18 additional COVID-19 deaths over the last 24 hours (seven additional deaths on Thursday), to bring the total to date to 3,361, up from 3,336.

Marion County was reporting today 18,956 cases (18,429 on Thursday) and 750 deaths (749), the most in the state in both categories. Lake County was reporting 9,346 cases (9,277) and 298 deaths (298), the second most in the state in both categories. LaPorte County was reporting 1,212 cases (1,202) and 35 deaths (31).

The total COVID-19 death count includes both confirmed and presumptive deaths to date. Presumptive deaths are those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms all point to COVID-19 but for which no positive test is on record. A total of 223 presumptive deaths was reported today, up from 222 on Thursday.
