Photos: Historic power and tractor show draws crowd

The Northern Indiana Historical Power Association presented its 28th Annual Fall Harvest Festival and Antique Equipment Show over the weekend. The three day event was held at Sunset Hill County Park in Liberty Township

Top Row Left to Right:

-- Overview of many of the antique tractors displayed on the grounds of the County Park.

-- An 1910 antique Bessemer engine was one of the featured running displays. Dave Parks, engine owner demonstrates the process to Herb Angle of Washington Township. Many gathered to see how this oil fueled engine which runs off propane was used for pumping wells.

-- Above, John Fisher of LaCrosse (father in-law of local DDS Jim Arnold) is shown checking out the miniature model bailer exhibit which was demonstrated by owner Gene Birky (in hat) of Hebron.

-- Trying out the corn sheller exhibit are Danny Dunevant of Valparaiso and Timmy WinMiller who recently moved to the area.

Bottom Row Left to Right:

-- Zachary Groshans of Mishawaka demonstrates the novelty hover lawnmower which floats on a cushion of air used for rough terrain.

-- Local volunteers Norma and George Armstrong enjoy lunch at one of the picnic tables near the barns. George is secretary with NIHPA and Norma volunteered preparing pork chops for the big pork chop dinner fundraiser held on Saturday night at the park.

-- Many gathered to check out the Illiana Garden Railway Club Society train display held in one of the barns on the festival grounds. Larking Webb and his mom Pat of Liberty Township are all smiles as the miniature train chugs around one of the bins.
