Health Department sets new rules for gatherings over 100

Back To Front Page

The Porter County Health Department is announcing new regulations for any gathering or event in the county with more than 100 people in attendance.

The organizer of any such gathering is now required to submit to the Health Department, for its review, a COVID-19 Safety Plan.

Examples of such events include, but are not limited to, festivals, trade shows, musical performances (including those at bars), weddings, reunions, birthday parties, religious gatherings, vendor markets, and business meetings.

“Failure to notify us in advance may result in the closure of your event,” the Health Department said. “Thank you, everyone, as we work together to slow the spread of the virus.”

For more information, and to submit a COVID-19 Safety Plan, contact the Health Department at (219) 707-8158 or Sheila.Paul@porterco.org
