Garden Club plant sale Saturday in Chesterton

Back To Front Page

The Duneland Garden Club annual plant sale is offering a wide variety of choice perennials Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Thomas Library west parking lot in downtown Chesterton. A limited number of annual planters also will be available.

Perennials are the backbone of any garden by providing a progression of flowers and color throughout the season. Among the plants for sale will be hardy pink coneflowers, a selection of various medium and small hostas, fall-blooming aster, vinca groundcover and several different daylily cultivars in a wide range of colors, bloom time and heights.

A portion of the money raised from the plant sale is given back to the community through club service projects and donations.

The Duneland Garden Club will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the second floor meeting room at Thomas Library and the public is invited to attend. Speaker will be botanical perfumer Doreen Stelton of Verdant Faerie Fragrances, who will discuss the history of the rose in legend and actual use. She will be demonstrating natural rose oils from around the world.
