Pat Gland, who served as a bus driver for the Duneland School Corporation
for 35 years, lost more than half of her house in a catastrophic fire on
January 13, 2017. Thankfully, Pat escaped without injury, but now she needs
the community’s help.
A spaghetti dinner
fundraiser to benefit Pat, will be held at the VFW Post 2511, 1290 Wagner
Rd, Porter, from noon until 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 26. The afternoon
will include live entertainment by Peter Nye & the New Blades of Grass,
raffles, a 50/50 drawing, a silent auction and bake sale. The cost is $10
per person with all proceeds benefiting Pat and her family.

silent auction. Items include gift baskets by local retailers, sporting
event tickets, restaurant gift certificates, paintings by local artists and

fire,” Chamberlain said. “We want to help as much as possible.” Lakeside has
