Fireworks on the Lakefront will be July 1 at the Indiana Dunes State Park
Beach.
The extravaganza
will be the first fireworks display of its kind in the Duneland area, and
the first fireworks in the area for the holiday weekend. It’s planned to be
the premier event of the Independence Day weekend.
The beautiful
display of fireworks will be set off from a barge off of the State Park
Beach at dusk and will be seen for miles around.
“Getting
together at a fireworks display to celebrate this particular holiday has
been a mainstay of the Duneland communities in years past, and it’s exciting
to be part of the group that’s bring it back,” said Heather Ennis, Executive
Director of the Chamber. “I think we’ve all missed having them for the past
couple of years. Having the event at State Park Beach will be lots of fun.”
Parking is
limited to 1,500 vehicles, so take family and friends and head out for the
fun. There is a $4 per carload parking fee and a $2 walk in fee.
No alcoholic
beverages are allowed.
Personal
fireworks are not permitted.
