It’s time, once
again, to put on your red shoes and dance the blues.
The Chesterton Fire
Department will host its 17th annual Street Dance fundraiser from 5 p.m. to
midnight Saturday, Aug. 3, in front of the fire station, 702 Broadway.
Broadway will be
closed between South Eighth Street and Chesterton Blvd. for the event.
Gates open at 5
p.m. with Ally Christian taking the stage at 5:30 p.m., followed by Who’s
Followin’ Who at 7 p.m., and Karen Waldrup at 9 p.m.
George’s Gyros will
be providing food for purchase; Indiana Beverage, domestic beer and drinks;
Hunter’s Brewing, craft beer; and Running Vines, wine and cider.
Cost: $5 per person
at the gate. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Tables and chairs
will be available but camp chairs are also welcome.
As always, proceeds
raised by the Street Dance will go toward the purchase of equipment for the
CFD. In the past, the event has raised funds for extrication equipment,
scene lighting, CPR mannequins, and thermal imaging cameras.
