The Duneland community is ready to celebrate, remember, and fight back
against cancer and teams are working hard to raise funds to help in the
fight against cancer.
Chesterton Tribune for a Cure, a team for this year’s American Cancer
Society’s Relay for Life of Duneland, will be holding a fundraiser in
conjunction with Green Housewives Bath Company, a locally owned company
based on the philosophy “Be green while saving green.”
From June 24 through July 8, Green Housewives Bath Company will donate 20%
of all purchases made to the Relay for Life of Duneland to fight cancer.
Owners Christine Sierazy and Krystal Markwart, both Duneland natives,
started their company to make natural and organic bath and body products
affordable to everyone. Their products are hand made, with all natural and
organic ingredients, out of their kitchens in small batches to ensure
freshness and quality, and do not contain broad spectrum preservatives. The
eco-friendly packaging, from truffle boxes made of grass to glass canning
jars, can be composted, recycled or upcycled.
Green Housewives Bath Company sells dozens of different items from novelty
bath and body to wellness products that combat eczema, as well as cloth
diaper safe bottom cream. They make goods for the entire family, including
lotion bars, bath bombs, shower steamers, deodorants, tooth powders,
headache balm, coffee scrubs, bath salt, sunblock, healing ointment and bug
spray. New products are added to their lineup regularly, the newest being
hand spun wool dryer balls.
The blossoming 6-month old company has committed to giving back to the
community and has already donated 5 baskets to different functions
throughout Duneland and recently raised over $200 through product purchases
to donate to victims of the recent tornado in Oklahoma.
