Field Station Cooperative Preschool Open House this Saturday, January 26

Children and their parents are invited to attend the Field Stationís Open House this Saturday, January 26, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Applications for the 2019/2020 School year will be accepted at this time. Come and see for yourself what makes the Field Station such a special place!

The Field Station is a nature-based, not-for-profit organization that is committed to teaching their students to become more aware of their surrounding environment. Children at the Field Station will experience discovery through art, exposure to the wonders of nature through daily outdoor activities, language enhancement, introduction of math and science skills through plenty of hands-on learning, and all appropriate skills needed to prepare for kindergarten.

Being a cooperative, the Field Station is an organization founded, maintained and administered by the parents of enrolled preschool students. It is a place where parents can be involved in a unique, quality educational program for their children. The school employs teachers who are assisted in the classroom by parent volunteers. Parent committees are involved in all aspects of running the school.

The Field Station is located at 399 Howe Rd., within the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore in Porter, and is surrounded by trails, the Little Calumet River, wetlands and prairie. Itís the perfect spot for teaching young children about the natural world around them.
