The Duneland Family
YMCA will host the sixth annual Dancing Like the Stars on Saturday, November
4, in the Stardust Event Center at the Blue Chip Casino. Enjoy a memorable
evening as local celebrities and their professional dancing partners face
off to raise funds which will support the Y mission and provide programming
and membership subsidy. The doors will open at 5 p.m. for a social hour
followed by dinner and the amazing performances of our eight specially
chosen 2017 Stars.
“We are thrilled to
return to Blue Chip this year,” said event chair Meg McCarel. “This year’s
theme is “The Spies Who Love the Y”, an evening of spy-themed music and
entertainment. We hope guests will add fun and enjoyment to the evening by
dressing the part of their favorite spy character and do some super
sleuthing to support the all-star (spy) lineup of contestants.”
The Stardust Event
Center features everything necessary to comfortably accommodate guests.
Special room rates at the Blue Chip Hotel will be available for Dancing Like
The Stars guests if reservations are made by October 14.
The impressive 2017
Stars lineup includes Y Personal Trainer Carensa Bradford; Heather Compton,
Chesterton Fire Dept.; Fernando Romo, El Cantarito Mexican Cuisine; JD
Williamson, Windstream Communications; Heather Ennis, Northwest Indiana
Forum; Suzanne Radzik, Duneland YMCA; Mark Chamberlain, Lakeside Wealth
Mgmt.; and Kevin Zeck, Duneland School Corp.
celebrities are asking for community support as they dance to help ensure a
brighter future for those in our community in need of assistance. They'll
all be dancing to win support for the Y, and they’re all in it to win it!
There are a variety
of ways to support the stars and strengthen the mission of the Y: purchase a
ticket or table to attend the event in support of a particular star; provide
a sponsorship or Silent Auction item; or support a star by purchasing
“votes” for them.
