Duneland residents invited to be in DBIG 4th of July parade

Back To Front Page

Duneland area residents are invited to participate in this year’s 4th of July Parade sponsored by the Duneland Business Initiative Group.

There is no fee to be in the parade, but you need to fill out an application which includes further details regarding participation. The parade is in Porter, and will start at Yost School and end in Hawthorne Park, where the Family 4th Fest will be taking place.

The theme is “Grand Old Flag” - so we’d love to see lots of U.S. Flags, red, white & blue, and stars and stripes. This is a fun opportunity for our residents to show their pride in our community and country.

Here are just a few ideas for parade entries: Decorate bicycles, wagons, vehicles and even pets. Walk in the parade to represent yourself, your family or organization. Put together an ensemble of people doing something fun, interesting and inspired. Be funny or serious. Be unique or not; it’s up to you.  Floats are especially welcomed.

Applications to participate in the 4th of July Parade may be downloaded at Entries must be received by Tuesday, July 1.
