Duneland Kindermusik winter spring registration underway now

Back To Front Page

Duneland Kindermusik is currently accepting registrations for the winter/spring semester of classes. The new semester begins the week of February 4 and classes will run for 13 weeks.

Kindermusik, German for children’s music, was created by early childhood specialists, and incorporates the latest brain research in its curricula. Kindermusik programs provide early childhood learning opportunities through innovative music and movement activities and involve families in the joy of their child’s development. The most current research indicates that a significant amount of fundamental learning takes place between birth and 7 years. Music stimulates the brain, forging neural pathways in all domains of learning: cognitive, emotional, social, and physical. A child’s entire brain is involved when he or she participates in music and movement activities. Duneland Kindermusik offers a full program of Kindermusik classes.

Kindermusik Village class, newborns to 2 yrs., provides a delightful environment unlike any other. Through a unique blend of multi-level activities that include creative movement, vocal play, object and instrument exploration, and a colorful literature component, baby’s growth and development are stimulated and all senses engaged.

In Kindermusik Our Time, ages 18 months to 3 1/2 yrs., will enjoy “Fiddle Dee Dee.” Children meet many animal characters in song, activities and through the music and literature books. With silly lap bounces, the teacher helps toddlers develop rhythm while further developing their emerging language skills. They will enjoy playing their fiddle sticks too.

Kindermusik Imagine That, for 3-5 yrs., will take a musical journey of discovery and exploration limited only by the power of imagination. Pretend play activities are integrated with music, vocal development, storytelling, movement and literature to capture the preschoolers potential to learn.

Kindermusik for the Young Child, 5-7 yrs., will learn how to read and play music on the glockenspiel, dulcimer, and recorder. Children will be introduced to various types of multicultural styles and musical genres. Children will explore their singing voices, clap rhythms, and learn musical symbols. This is a four semester sequenced class, and is a preparatory program for piano lessons.

Family Time, 0 - 5 yrs., brings adults and children together to provide a dynamic integrated music learning experience for everyone - a great way for parents with children of various ages to spend time together, doing one activity as a family. This class meets in the evening.

Classes are held at the Chesterton Montessori School, 270 E. Burdick Rd.
