The Duneland Chamber of Commerce was recognized as one of five finalists for the statewide 2018 Indiana Chamber of the Year.

The organization was judged by a panel of five professionals located outside of Indiana in the areas of leadership and organization, finance, advocacy, membership, and programming. Finalists for the award were announced during the Annual Conference of the Indiana Chamber Executives Association (ICEA).

The Duneland Chamber of Commerce is a catalyst organization committed to ensuring that its member communities are vibrant places to live, work, and play. Through service to the towns of Beverly Shores, Burns Harbor, Chesterton, Dune Acres and Porter, the Chamber provides a unified voice for robust community-building events, meaningful educational programming and smart economic development in the Duneland area.

“ICEA established this award in 2002 to recognize excellence for our local chamber,” said Shelli Williams, ICEA President. “We have since had two chambers, the Bloomington Chamber and the Southwest Indiana Chamber, move on to win national recognition following receiving our ICEA award. We thank our awards sponsor, Old National Bank for recognizing what can happen with local communities through the excellent leadership of local chambers of commerce.”

The 2018 award was presented to Greater Fort Wayne Inc. at the ICEA Annual Conference help in Indianapolis.

The Indiana Chamber Executives Association (ICEA) focuses on the professional development of local chambers of commerce serving all communities in Indiana. Founded in 1915, ICEA has grown to represent more than 240 local chamber professionals.
