Opportunity Enterprises JobSource client David Moscoe of Chesterton received
the 2012 Justin Dart Personal Achievement Award, an annual honor given by
the Indiana Association of Rehabilitation Facilities (INARF) to a person
with disabilities who maximized their skills to achieve their chosen goals.
The award was presented in Indianapolis on March 14 at the 2012 INARF Annual
Conference. It is named in honor of Justin Dart, who was a major architect
of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Moscoe was honored for his achievements and growth in employment. Through
the employment support services he receives through the JobSource program at
OE, he has gained the confidence and skills needed to expand his range of
abilities and move into jobs requiring greater skill. An employee at Target
in Valparaiso, Moscoe has begun working in other positions, including
stocking and cashiering.
To reward his superior work ethic and attitude, his supervisors at the store
named Moscoe a “Great Team Hero” for the month of October, 2011. According
to his nominator for that award, “David has done nothing but impress since
he was hired on to our team. David wasted no time becoming a staple at the
front end with his positive attitude, relentless work ethic, and braving the
unpredictable weather of Northwest Indiana, all with a smile.”
INARF is the primary membership organization representing agencies providing
services to individuals with disabilities. For more information, see
