Jackson Cub Scout Pack 924 celebrated its 75th anniversary at its annual
Blue and Gold Banquet at Jackson Elementary School.
“Happy Birthday Cub Scouting” and “Scout Circus” were the themes. The school
cafeteria was transformed into a Big Top where Scouts and their families
were treated to Orkey the Clown of Michigan City providing entertainment
before dinner.
Guests of honor were members of the fifth grade Patrol Cobra and their
families.
Earning the Arrow of Light and the Webelos Super Achiever Award were Ian
Andrews, Lucas Baughman, Michael Leopold, Cody Olson and Jamie Thomas.
After a candlelight farewell, Andrews, Baughman and Leopold were welcomed
into Troop 929 by Troop Master Dave Larimer. Thomas was welcomed into Troop
908 by Troop Master Chris Holth.
Fourth graders in Patrol Rattlesnake earned numerous Webelos badges and
compass points. Earning their Webelos badge wee Natanel Arfa, Eric
Dreischerf, Jacob Korba, Joe Larimer, Evan Mazurkiewicz, Zack Richey, Joe
Seaman, Jordan Surgot, Dekota Tarkany, Jacob Workman and Liam Murphy.
The Parvouli Dei Catholic Religious Knot was presented to Trevor Estelle,
Jacob Korba and Joe Larimer.
Third graders in Bear Den 7 earned many gold and silver arrow points and
belt loops. Scouts who earned the Bear Badge include Simon Andrews, Cameron
Walker, Cole Calkusic, Zach VonHuben, Patrick Curley, Jared Remkus, Kyle
Vargo, Andrew Wallisa and Jonathan Kindmark.
The second grade Wolves earned many belt loops, gold and silver arrow
points. Scouts who earned their Wolf Badge include Michael Amling, Max
Freeman, Henry Keller, Tony Ketcham, David Joesten, George Terhune, Joseph
Maggio, Ben Allison, Logan Creekbaum, Nick Santiago and Luke Lesar.
The religious knot for the Catholic Award “The Light of Christ” was awarded
to Henry Keller.
First grade Tigers also earned many belt loops. Earning the Tiger Badge was
Nathan Legler, Sean Messina, Michael Phillips, Brandon Remkus, Matt Seaman,
Kyle VanEekeren and Eddie Young.
Decorations and activities for the event were under the direction of Denarie
Kane and parents of Patrol Rattlesnake. T.S Express ‘Two’ provided dinner
music.
