CrossPointe Christian Church celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony for the
construction of their new church building on Saturday, December 22, at the
church property, on the SE corner of Hwys. 49 & 6 in Liberty Township.
CrossPointe has
owned the 17 acre parcel of land since 1994. Construction recently started,
following a zoning variance granted by the Porter County BZA in August of
2012.
The church is
currently meeting at the Duneland Family YMCA, at 215 Roosevelt Rd.,
Chesterton, at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. on Sundays until construction of the new
building is completed in 2013.
At the ceremony,
representatives from Chester Inc. spoke as did Lead Minister Tim Wanless,
reminding the congregation to "Pray for Dirt" as they outreach to the people
of Porter County and beyond.
