Cpt. Erik Peterson was featured in an article on Time.com entitled “Facing Off Against Al-Sadr,” by Mark Kukis.

Erik is company commander for 4th Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, “C” Company in Baghdad. The 1st Cavalry Division’s home base is Ft. Bliss, Texas. Erik is a 1996 graduate of Chesterton High School.

His wife Kelly (Ton) Peterson and daughter Madelyn currently are residing in El Paso, Texas during his deployment.

His mother is Vonnie Peterson of Chesterton, and in-laws are Bob and Kathy Ton of Porter.
