Councilman Bain is 'Gunny' in Iraq: Louis Bain, (right) 31, of Burns Harbor, has been promoted within the Indiana Marine Reserves. Bain, previously a Staff Sergeant, was promoted November 1, 2006 to Gunnery Sergeant. Bain, currently serving his second tour of duty in Iraq, is stationed in the Anbar Province. His assignment is in convoy support, route clearing and civil affairs projects. The route clearing involves working with mine sweepers, searching for IEDs—Improvised Explosive Devices.
