Winners in the
Chesterton Tribune coloring contest were chosen after the December 12
deadline.
Calvin Tran Aubin,
2, won the judges votes in the 2-4 age group, with his enthusiastic color
fields. His Santa was red, the sleigh blue, the reindeer brown and the moon
a shining golden globe. The houses were purple and the snowflakes were
highlighted with gray. Calvin enlivened his submission with a sticker of a
corgi and a toy poodle delivering gifts.
Ruby Hiestand, 7,
won the 5-7 age group with her carefully executed coloring, including yellow
highlights on the sleigh and a red nose on the lead reindeer, Rudolph of
course. The moon and stars glowed in yellow.
Margaret Mochen, 9,
swept the 8-10 age group, setting herself apart with a meticulously filled
violet sky contrasting with the golden moon and stars. Her reindeer were
also led by Rudolph, the famous red-nosed reindeer.
