The 61st annual
Chesterton Art Fair will be held this weekend at Dogwood Park in Chesterton.
Dogwood Park is on 23rd St., at 1100 N.
Artists from all
over the country will be showcasing their work in a great variety of
mediums. Local food vendors, including Ivy's Bohemia House, Biggby Coffee,
Dog Days Ice Cream Parlor, Women of the Moose, and St. Elizabeth Orthodox
Church, will sell food and beverages throughout the weekend. Plus, musicians
including the Golden Fingers Ukelele Band, Ally Christian, the Salt
Exchange, and the NWI Youth Symphony will all perform.
The hours of the
Chesterton Art Fair are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, and 10
a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday, with an admission charge of $5 per person, or $7 for
the whole weekend. Tickets can be purchased at the gates, or purchased
Children ages 12 and under are free. Parking is free as well.
Proceeds from the
Chesterton Art Fair are vital to the operation of the Art Center. Funds
raised help provide art education programming for the coming year. Over
1,000 children participate in art classes each year, creating projects and
learning to appreciate and enjoy art in its many forms.
New projects for
children to create will be featured at the Art Fair this year in the
expanded children's art experience booths.
The Art Fair has a
no pets policy. Only official service animals are allowed into the Art Fair.
