Benefit Saturday to aid Tom Davis in his battle against brain cancer

A benefit to aid Tom Davis in his battle against cancer is set for Saturday, February 25, from 3 to 10 p.m., at the Porter VFW. There will be a $5 cover charge.

Team Tommy D! has organized this event as a fundraiser for longtime Porter resident Tom Davis, who was very recently diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma brain cancer.

Tom has dedicated his life to being the best husband, father, and friend to those around him that he could possibly be.

On Nov. 30, 2016, every family’s nightmare began for Davis family. Just days later, Tom was diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma.

If this had happened to anyone else, this family would be there for them, so the community is rallying to help them.

This family friendly event will feature a bake sale, silent auction, gift baskets, and a cash bar.

For an additional $5, attendees may enjoy a Wagner’s BBQ pork sandwich, chips and a drink.

There will also be a DJ, a band, and a 50/50 drawing.

The Porter VFW is at 1290 Wagner Rd., in Porter.

A Tom Davis Benefit account has also been set up to accept donations at First State Bank of Porter.
