Apply now to sponsor a tree in annual Festival of Trees in Thomas Centennial Park

The 2017 Festival of Trees in Thomas Centennial Park in Downtown Chesterton is here. Families, businesses, and organizations, itís time to sponsor a tree.

The trees are now ready to decorate. Each has a string of lights already installed and an information box and is available for sponsorship by your group.

The sponsorship fee is $150. In addition, Kiwanis will decorate your tree for an additional fee of $50.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to charitable organizations that support children. A detailed list of these organizations is available upon request.

There will also be a crossword puzzle contest, with each treeís having a unique clue on the inside of information boxís lid in front of the tree. Each person who correctly fills out the crossword puzzle will receive a certificate for a Christmas ornament from the Westchester Township History Museum.

This holiday season event is sponsored by Chesterton-Duneland Kiwanis, Duneland Chamber of Commerce, Chesterton Parks Department, Do Good Works Inc. and the Town of Chesterton.
