If you or someone
you know within the Duneland community has been struggling financially and
is in need of home repair, get in contact with Rebuilding Together Duneland
(RTD) to see if RTD can provide free assistance.
It’s not always
easy to ask for help, and often the people who need assistance most are the
least willing to seek it. RTD’s mission is to “Improve the homes and lives
of financially-burdened homeowners in the Duneland Community,” and that
could be anyone who has fallen on hard times and needs a hand. That’s what
neighbors are for--that’s what RTD is for.
Since 1997, RTD has
brought together thousands of volunteers and skilled contractors interested
in helping their neighbors and improving their neighborhoods. RTD has
reinvested donations totaling over $1.2 million dollars into 212 home and
community projects across the Duneland area. All of that effort culminates
on National Rebuilding Day, when all the projects plannedÑeverything from
yard work to total roof replacementÑare carried out at once.
This year, National
Rebuilding Day is on April 24, 2021. While that date may seem far away,
there’s a lot that has to happen behind the scenes before that day. That’s
why RTD must start planning as soon as possible in order for volunteers and
skilled workers to do the most good.
