The Porter County
Health Department reported another COVID-19 death on Sunday, bringing the
total so far to 37.
The victim was a
Westchester Township resident in an unspecified age group and residing in a
long-term care facility.
Department was also reporting this morning 11 new COVID-19 cases over the
last 72 hours (10 new cases on Friday), to bring the total so far to 644, up
from 633 on Friday.
Department reported one new case on Saturday; two new cases on Sunday; and
eight new cases today.
Three patients are
currently hospitalized, unchanged from Friday; while 525 have recovered, up
from 497 on Friday.
To date, 99 cases
of COVID-19 have been reported in Porter County’s long-term care facilities
(98 on Friday), 26 patients have died (25), two are currently hospitalized
(two), and 64 have recovered (46).
Duneland cases by
township, all unchanged from Wednesday:
-- Westchester: 46
cases, up from 43 on Friday. Nine active cases.
-- Liberty: 26
cases, up from 25 on Friday. One active case.
-- Jackson: Two
cases, neither active.
-- Pine: Seven
cases, four of them active.
-- Portage: 260
cases (256 on Friday).
-- Center: 180
cases (178 on Friday).
-- Washington: 51
cases (unchanged from Friday).
-- Union: 27 cases
(26 on Friday).
Indiana C19 deaths
The Indiana State
Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting today 63 additional COVID-19
deaths over the last four days (16 additional deaths on Thursday), to bring
total deaths so far to 2,555, up from 2,493 on Thursday.
ISDH reported 23
additional deaths on Friday, 19 on Saturday, five on Sunday, and 13 today.
The Indiana State
Department of Health (ISDH) was also reporting this morning 1,470 new cases
of COVID-19 over the last four days (584 new cases on Thursday), to bring
total cases so far to 42,633, up from 41,438 on Thursday.
ISDH reported 389
new cases on Friday, 411 on Saturday, 393 on Sunday, and 277 today.
Nursing home cases
and deaths to date: 5,147 cases and 1,140 deaths (4,942 cases and 1.082
deaths on Thursday).
Marion County has
the most reported cases, 10,962 (10,852 on Thursday); and the most deaths,
669 (661). Lake County has reported 4,437 cases (4,222) and 235 deaths
(232), the second highest in the state in both categories. LaPorte County
has reported 489 cases and 25 deaths (479 and 25).
The total COVID-19
death count includes both confirmed and presumptive deaths to date.
Presumptive deaths are those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms
all point to COVID-19 but for which no positive test is on record. A total
of 190 presumptive deaths was reported today, up from 187 on Thursday.
