The Chesterton Fire
Department will hold its annual Open House from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday,
Oct. 7, at the fire station.
Activities will
include equipment demonstrations; opportunities to spray fire hoses; tours
of the fire house; the smoke house; a bounce house; and refreshments.
As always, the Open
House will kick off the CFD’s observance of National Fire Prevention Week,
Oct. 8-14. This year’s theme--“Every Second Counts: Plan Two Ways
Out”--highlights the need for every family to have an escape plan for
emergencies.
There will be no
Lights & Sirens Parade this year.
