8 more cases in Duneland Schools

Seven more Duneland students and a staffer have tested positive for COVID-19, the Duneland School Corporation (DSC) is reporting.

-- A Liberty Elementary student tested positive on Thursday morning. No one has been identified as a close contact of that student, DSC said.

-- A Bailly Elementary student tested positive on Thursday afternoon. Twenty-persons have been identified as close contacts and will be quarantined for 14 days, DSC said.

-- Four Chesterton High School students also tested positive on Thursday afternoon. Twenty-one persons have been identified as close contacts of those students.,

-- A CHS staffer tested positive as well on Thursday afternoon. Three persons have been identified as close contacts.

-- And a CHS student tested positive this morning. Nine persons have been identified as close contacts.

As of 8:09 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 67 staffers and students--either in-person or remote--have tested positive for COVID-19.

Of those 67 cases, 30 are currently active: 17 at CHS; nine remote; two at Bailly Elementary; and two at Liberty Elementary.
