The Indiana State
Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 568 new cases of
COVID-19, for a total of 6,907, up from 6,351 on Thursday.
The 568 new cases
represent an increase of 9 percent over the last 24 hours.
A total of 300
Hoosiers have died to date, up from 245 on Thursday, an increase of 22
percent over the last 24 hours. Deaths are reported based on when the data
are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.
The 55 deaths were
the largest number the Indiana State Department of Health has reported to
date in its daily pandemic updates, followed by 42 deaths the state agency
tests have been reported to ISDH, up from 32,133 on Thursday. Tests are
being conducted by IDSH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and
Marion County had
the most new cases, with 202. Other counties with 10 or more new cases were
Lake (53), Allen (14), Decatur (10), Hamilton (35), Hendricks (28), Johnson
(23), Madison (57), Monroe (10), and St. Joseph (15). The Lake County totals
include results from East Chicago and Gary, which have their own health
