4th Street Theater to present 'Crime and Punishment'

The 4th Street Theater will present a new, award-winning adaptation of Dostoyevsky’s literary masterpiece “Crime and Punishment” from June 6 through June 22.

The adaptation by Marilyn Campbell and Curt Columbusis is told through three actors playing Raskolnikov (the murderer), Porfiry Petrovitch (the detective) and Sonia (the young prostitute).

The 4th Street production is directed by Sandra Assarian and features; Matt Stinnett, Laura Simmons and Larry Hinken.

A conversation on the nature of evil is set in the mind of the murderer where he relives and explores, through the urging of Porfiry and Sonia, the thoughts, ideas and feelings that drove him to his horrible crime. This intimate psychological journey into the mind of a killer and his search for redemption, seeks to unveil hidden dimensions of the human condition.

Performance dates are June 6, 7, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21 and 22 at 8 p.m. and June 15 at 3 p.m.

The 4th Street Theater is located at 125 N. 4th Street in Chesterton.
